Infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which can result in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), has caused an unprecedented global pandemic. Because COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease, there have been high numbers of hospital admissions, which has prompted health care facilities to adapt their capacity and infrastructure to implement the infection control measures needed in order to contain hospital outbreaks.1
