As of April 12, 2021, there have been over 136 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide and 2,938,804 deaths.1 The United States alone has suffered over 562,080 of those deaths. Kentucky has had a total of 434,878 cases and 6,204 deaths although case counts are currently declining. This has put significant stress on health care facilities to not only provide care to patients but also to protect the most valuable resource in the pandemic, its health care workers (HCW).
